Reps Give Invited Mdas 7 Days to Submit Documents or Face Sanctions
The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on the Implementation and Oversight of the Naira-for-Crude Oil Policy has given all invited MDAs and stakeholders a seven-day ultimatum to submit requested documents or face parliamentary sanctions.
The committee, chaired by Hon. Boniface Emerengwa, issued the ultimatum after most agencies invited to Thursday’s investigative hearing failed to appear and did not provide the required documents.
Their absence and non-compliance were described as undermining legislative oversight and delaying proper scrutiny of the policy. The committee said the delay has hampered vetting and due diligence on a policy considered critical to national economic development.
It warned that any attempt to frustrate the probe would attract firm legislative action. The committee maintained that it would not allow stakeholder indifference to derail its mandate. The committee extended the deadline for document submission to 27th November 2025, and rescheduled the investigative hearing to 2nd December 2025
